In a different environment

The conflict handling skills you use on your job can be effective in other areas – including working from home or any environment where participants may have different viewpoints and bring different experiences, opinions or backgrounds to the scenario.

Utilizing learned conflict management skills in a different way – in a different environment – can positively impact daily interactions. For example, consider:

What can we do individually to change the dynamic? Is there a way for everyone to win something?

What positive outcome would each person like to achieve? Has it been defined? Are there any inconsistencies?

Are there any individual strengths that we can define and highlight and take advantage of?

Do we have a team “code of conduct? If yes, should we revisit? If not, should we define it – collaboratively?

Utilize your workplace conflict management skills – even working remotely – to positively impact daily interactions.
